A number of senior players and coaches of Wallsend F.C. have been kind enough to take time out of their schedules to engage with the local community through the fun of football. Students of St. Patrick’s Primary School have been participating in football lessons and games to support positive physical activity and to develop interests in sport.

Over the course of a school-term, students are encouraged to enjoy themselves through participation and are guided through drills and games to increase their skills. A term’s work culminates in a cross-school Gala day in which two mixed teams [girls and boys], both for Year 3/4’s and Year 5/6’s, will compete against schools from the local region.

Senior Wallsend F.C. players, Reece Wright, Luke Alexander and Anthony Koch, and senior coaches, Chris Gallagher, Peter Gallagher, and Strat Kapalos, have kindly put their hands up to assist in setting up activities for the students and will be present as coaches when the Gala day comes around.

The players involved have deeply appreciated the happy faces and smiles that greet them weekly, a large, but well-behaved group of students that are always willing to get involved and have a go.

Wallsend F.C. would like to thank St. Patrick’s Primary School and its students for leaving an endearing impression on the players and coaches, and sincerely hope that the remaining weeks of the program will be as fruitful as its early stages.

Here’s hoping some of the St. Patrick’s students become future Red Devils!
